This Calendar is Truly Inspired by God • Reflected in the Shroud of Turin • Confirmed in Heaven is for Real • Painted by Gifted Child Prodigy Akiane
“Prince of Peace - the resurrection painting” is the first in a series of inspirational paintings of Jesus by Akiane Kramarik, an American artist who, at age 8, created this masterful portrait of Jesus. Because of her talent and unusual story, over the past decade she has been invited to share her experiences and paintings globally. Now 21, Akiane describes herself as a “visionary journalist.” Akiane loves to travel and has visited over 30 countries. Akiane and family are now in Australia, exploring the beauty and culture of “The Land Down Under.”
Akiane says: “If I have been gifted by God, it is for one reason and one reason only: to help others.”
Love, Nature, Poverty: Akiane’s Early Years
Akiane’s life began in an unusual way: she was delivered in an underwater birth in a shack at the edge of a cornfield near Chicago on July 9, 1994. Her mother, Forelli, a teacher from Lithuania, and her father Mark, a cook from Chicago, were young, struggling parents with three children. They experienced tremendous financial hardship in their rural Illinois home.
The family had no close friends, no relatives, no television or radio. Their lifestyle was simple, consisting of long walks in nature, open conversations, home-schooling with hands-on explorations of nature and knowledge, all in a very nurturing environment. They were loving, idealistic and poor. One parent was atheist, the other agnostic. Spiritual matters were never discussed, so giving thanks at the table and bedtime prayer was not a part of their lives.
To an Atheist, Is Jesus is a Nightmare
Naturally, Akiane’s family was mystified when, at age four, she began describing visions of God, Jesus, angels and Heaven. Before converting to Christianity, Akiane’s mother said in interviews “to an atheist, Jesus is a nightmare!” Gradually, Akiane’s days became consumed with painting and writing. Meanwhile, Akiane’s mother filled journal after journal with descriptions of Akiane’s experiences. Soon Akiane's pencil and charcoal sketches adorned practically every wall in the house. By age six, Akiane was painting in acrylics, then oils. At age seven, she suddenly began writing extraordinary poetry. The next year, this young prodigy, equipped with her visions, paintbrush and ladder, completed a four-foot-tall oil portrait of Jesus titled “Prince of Peace.” It was her first masterpiece.
Prince of Peace gained global attention. Akiane became known as “the child prodigy who painted the portrait of Jesus” and began making regular appearances on prime-time TV and radio shows including TBN, The Hour of Power, World News Tonight, Good Morning America, The Glenn Beck Show/CNN, The View, Fox News, The Montel Williams Show, Oprah, The Late Show and CNN.
By age nine, Akiane had completed “Father Forgive Them”, a painting showing Jesus lifting up the world in prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane. That year, Akiane was inducted into the Children’s Hall of Fame. By age 11, she had painted several pictures of Jesus, depicting his life from birth to his Resurrection. Scholars around the world have marveled at the similarities between “Prince of Peace” and the face seen in the famous Shroud of Turin (believed by millions to be the burial cloth of Jesus).
Akiane’s portrait of Jesus is now widely believed to represent the real face of Jesus. The four images below begin with the face seen in the Shroud of Turin and include progressive degrees of transparency, ending with Prince of Peace as painted by Akiane. This is His-story in the making!
When You Said, Seek Ye My Face; My Heart Said Unto Thee
'Thy Face, Lord, Will I Seek'
God Was Not Finished!
Although her heavenly visions were becoming less frequent, Akiane continued rise every morning at 3 a.m. to paint, intuitively recognizing that God was asking her to develop a deeper faith and to wait on Him.
Simultaneously, another story was developing many miles away four-year-old Colton Burpo was undergoing emergency surgery for a burst appendix. After his recovery, Colton identified “Prince of Peace” as the Jesus he had seen in Heaven during his operation.
Over several years, Colton revealed more details about his experience to his friends and family. Eventually he became the subject of a bestselling book. Tucked deep in its pages, along with other pictures of people Colton saw in Heaven, there was a small image of "Prince of Peace." It was as though God had passed the torch to the Burpo family to continue to share “Prince of Peace" with the world. In the picture to the right, you see Colton and Akiane meeting for the first time on the Katie Couric show.
The “Heaven is For Real” Miracle
The demand for information about “Prince of Peace”, Heaven and the little Lithuanian girl who painted Jesus increased dramatically after the release of the book written by Colton's father, Todd Burpo. “Heaven is for Real - A Little Boy's Astounding Trip to Heaven and Back” immediately rose to the top of the New York Times Bestseller list and is now available over 40 languages.
Last year, Sony Pictures produced the movie Heaven is for Real, as God continues to reveal Jesus to the world through “Prince of Peace” in ways only He could imagine. Despite the diabolical interference created by a similar book by Alex Malarkey – who recently recanted his visit-to-heaven story as lie - many people now feel that Heaven Is For Real and “Prince of Peace” present images that many now recognize as the true real face of Jesus.
