Darkness Cannot Drive out Darkness, Only Light Can do That - Martin Luther King

These words spoken by Martin Luther King have inspired millions of peace-lovers around the world and still help light the way in times often filled with darkness.  Thank you for his inspiration and his words that are still a clarion call.  He knew the truth. and that truth set him free when he said: " Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that."

Father,  thank you that you have a plan, a purpose, and design for each of person and each nation in the world. Lord, we ask that your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give each of us the wisdom, strength, and courage to take a stand for love, light, truth and Godly values. Give us the grace and ability to live and share Biblical Wisdom in all the areas of our society that shape our culture - the church, family, education, government, media, art & entertainment, Business. Because your word tells us that Jesus is the light of the world we ask you to shine His light into the darkness and show me what you would have me do to bring glory to your name. (John 8:12) 

Your say "if my people, who are called by my name would humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn form their wicked way then I will hear from Heaven, and I will forgive their sin, and I will heal their land." (I Chronicle 7:14) So Father, I humble myself before you today and ask for forgiveness in any part I have had in the demise of my family, city, state and country. I stand in intercession for my brothers and sisters who are not willing or aware of the need for repentance and ask forgiveness for my nation. Lord hear our prayers! Father Heal our families, churches, broken systems and our land. Show me what I need to do - Father let the healing begin with me!  In Jesus name, I pray – Amen!
